Climbing

As a complete novelty, Leukerbad offers the breathtaking “Gemmiwand” to climbers. With uncountable carbines and hundreds of meters of ropes and ladders the climbing wall was built in autumn 1998. It’s a must for every moutainlover to go for this great trip. Our local mountain guides are pleased to take you for this adventure.

The Daubenhorn via ferrata is open until 3 October 2025 inclusive. Please consult the home page link “Condition of lifts and trails”

Variant 1:

more than 1300 m of steel cable
3 steel ladders with a total length of about 60 m
Length: 8.4 km
Time: 5 hrs form the top of Gemmipass

Variant 2:

more than 2000 m of steel cable
12 steel ladders with a total length of 216 m
Length: 9 km
Time: 8 hrs from the top of Gemmipass

what you need for: helmet, climbing set (with deceleration device and 2 spring safety hooks). you can rent the equipment at the mountain cable car station ( CHF 30.-- per day)

people under age 18 are only allowed in companionship with adults!
