Wether on foot, by cable car or a combination of both – there are various ways to reach the Gemmi.

 

From Leukerbad

From Leukerbad, there are two ways to reach the Gemmi: on foot via the spectacular Gemmi Trail, or comfortably by the Gemmi Cable Car. The mountain station is directly connected to the Panorama Restaurant and the Berghotel.

Starting at Daubensee

A well-maintained trail leads from Lake Dauben to the Gemmi in about 30 minutes. Alternatively, the Daubensee Cable Car takes you directly to the top, offering immediate access to the panoramic restaurant and hotel.

From Kandersteg

From Kandersteg, take the cable car to the Sunnbüel mountain station, then hike over the Gemmi Pass to the Gemmi in about 3 to 3.5 hours.

If you want to cover the entire route on foot from Kandersteg, it takes about 5.5 to 6 hours. This approach is only possible during the summer season.

Getting there by public transportation

Leukerbad
By public transportation, you can reach the “Gemmi-Bahnen” bus stop right next to the valley station.

Kandersteg
The “Kandersteg, Talstation Sunnbüel” bus stop is located right next to the Sunnbüel cable car.

Traveling by car

Leukerbad
Parking is available at the Gemmibahn valley station and within walking distance.

Kandersteg
Parking is available directly at the Sunnbüel cable car valley station.
